The Department of English and Comparative Literature often hosts events which provide material for reading beforehand - e.g. brown bag lunches, panel discussions on papers, etc. Rather than simply providing these materials as Microsoft Word or PDF files, we'd like to try something new: CommentPress.

What is CommentPress, you ask? It's software designed by the Institute for the Future of the Book which allows documents to be posted online in a format that encourage discussion about the text. In CommentPress, there's room for discussion on each paragraph or the whole document at once; it's an innovative way to allow thoughtful reading and intellectual discussion about a text.

Watch this space for future developments and links to papers related to departmental events.
