Updating Session Pages

You can update your sessions to give participants access to your presentation materials and to create proceedings of your panels. All panelists can edit the session page using a checkout system.

To get started, navigate to the session where you want to edit or post materials. You can access all of your sessions by selecting the My Account link. When ready, follow these steps:

To upload presentation materials:

Navigate to your session page, and then select the Edit link near the top. Locate the Session Materials section of the proposal in the editing screen. Select the Choose File or Browse button. In the dialog box, select the file to be uploaded. (Be sure the extension matches one of those accepted for uploading and that the file is less than 128 megabytes.)

Once you have selected a file, click the Upload button. Once the file uploads, select the Save button at the bottom of the page. The file will be added to your session page.

To edit the session narrative:

Navigate to your session page, and then select the Edit link at the top of the page.  When the editing screen opens, locate the Session Narrative section. Compose as you would normally to display materials on the Web. You can use the icons on the toolbar to create links and images. For links, select the chain icon, then enter the URL in the dialog box.

For images, select the image icon. In the dialog box that appears you have two options: 1) enter the URL of an image, or 2) select the small icon in the upper right of the dialog box. An uploading window will open. Select the upload button on the top left. Once you upload an image to the server, it will appear in the list of files in the uploading window. With the image selected in the list, click the Insert file link near the top. The image will be inserted in the image dialog box. Add a description of the image and make any adjustments to its settings, then select Insert. The image will appear in your session editing window.

Embedding videos or other materials requires one extra step. With the editing window open, select the Switch to plain text editor link below the edition form. The editing toolbar will be hidden and the text will be available as for editing in HTML format. You can now insert embed codes (e.g., from YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud) or add HTML tags. When finished editing HTML or embedding materials, you can select the Switch to rich text editor link to reload the toolbar and the wysiwyg ediotr. (You may need to select the Save button at the bottom of the page to see the display of embedded elements.
